Radhanath Swami on Serving to Serve More

What do we hope to achieve by chanting the holy names of God? Or by serving the deity, the spiritual master, the devotees, and even the most insignificant creatures on earth? More service, eternal service. Serving is our natural healthy position, the very essence of our being. We don’t want to become God by serving Him. We want to serve the Lord so that we can serve Him more, with love and devotion, forever. We should not have any other motivation for service.

  6. The desire for rendering selfless service to others is the highest quality. Without it we will never gain entry to Vaikuntha, because we would just be miserable there.

  11. This is a case where the journey is the destination - we serve so that we get to serve more, not so that we reach a point where there is no need to serve.
