Radhanath Swami on The Material Propaganda

People in this world are indoctrinated and brainwashed by the daily newspapers, televisions and radios, cinemas, hoardings, so many novels and other literature, and a whole culture where people don’t care anymore whether material life is true or not. People are concerned not with facts or logical systematic reasoning but with jargon, with how things are presented. They don’t care if material life is true, they want to know if it is "cool", if it is strong, if it is courageous, if it is fun! Keep on bombarding them with all this jargon and they will be kept trapped in the material network of illusion forever. For example, if we hear a thing enough times, we will believe it, even if there is really no reality to it. That is what material propaganda is all about - the influence of others can change our perception of reality. We assume things to be true just because they have always been considered that way by so many people.

They say when the blind lead the blind they both fall into the ditch. The principle that we are speaking of molds our lives every day with our conception of reality, our conception of what is really valuable in life and what we should really pursue in life. We are told that looking nice, wearing a certain type of fashion, making some money, getting a nice house, getting some prestige in society will make us happy. But is this reality? Is this true? Or do we just believe that because so many other people believe it?

In our society, whatever the mass does and follows, we think that is reality. And we don't have the courage to inquire the reality and even if someone does, we are afraid to turn towards reality becuase it is not the normal thing, it is different from what the general mass follows. But saintly persons like HH Radhanath Swami explains us the reality, gives us the courage to embrace the reality and do the necessary.

  2. Like Radhanath Swami Maharaj says, material propaganda has unfortunately become the new mirror for reality. Hence we need to seek regular spiritual association to avoid getting sucked into the murkiness of society.

  4. The point stressed here is wonderful. In today's world, anything can be proven to be true just by making a big propaganda for that thing. Sometimes, people even don't want to hear anything against the so called true faith they have got for these things. The main reason behind all this is that as long as people can derive something for their use, they just want to have faith in that. Thank you Radhanath Swami for this wonderful point.

  5. Maharaj points out very succinctly that what is considered truth is far from reality. It is a world of make-believe and only true saints like HH Radhanath Swami can open one's eyes to reality.

  6. Radhanath swami has portrayed reality and the reason why we are trapped in this material world. We therefore need a bonafide Guru and association of devotees who can uproot these impressions from our mind and replace them by those which will generate pure spiritual desires.

Yes, especially children are the worst affected by all this material propaganda. As Radhanath Swami had said in one lecture - that the television is the modern day demon, worst than Ravana, because it has so many heads (channels).

  9. This is truly a world where the blind leads the blind, as Maharaj so aptly describes it. We need to wake up to our true selves and not be misguided by the general belief.

  10. Maharajji has presented a true picture of this material world. We need to understand the reality of this material world otherwise it would be very difficult for us to get out of this material world.

  11. It is really opening the eyes to seek the truth.
Everything is mere waste if it is not real. All glories to Radhanath Swami.
