Radhanath Swami on Pride and Anger

There may be many great obstacles - oceans of obstacles - in the paths of devotees, but they will easily cross over the ocean of all obstacles because they will be protected by the Lord. The devotees have no pride, and where there is no pride there can be no anger. On the other hand, those who do not surrender to the Lord, will easily be consumed and drowned by this ocean. Somehow or the other, if by the power of their austerity they cross this whole ocean of material obstacles they become proud due to that. And when they become proud, they easily become angry. They may cross the whole ocean of material temptations and obstacles but will drown in the little puddle - the size of the hoof print of a calf - which represents their anger. The persons who are mystics but are not devoted to the Lord lose all the results of all of their austerities and mysticism. Those who take shelter of Him achieve His divine mercy and are infallible.

  1. Wonderful article infact wonderful instructions.

Maharaj very nicely explained the importance of Saranagathi to the Lotus feet of Lord Krishna and his Bonafied representatives. Unless and untill we won't surrender, it's very difficult to cross over this material world.

Maharaj once again clearly given the impact of anarthas in the devotional path. We have to overcome the anarthas otherwise we become victim of anarthas and fall down.

Thank you so much Maharaj for wonderful instructions.

  8. This is beautiful. Teaches a very nice lesson about pride. We should never get too comfortable with our position or titles, even if we have surpassed all sorts of obstacles, that little pride can destroy us.

  14. Very nice explanation by Radhanath Swami of how anger can devour anyone. There is no shelter other than that of Lord's by which we can be protected from being angry, proud of falsity.
