Radhanath Swami on Selfless Service

True love is always selfless. If we have selfish motivations then it is not really love on the spiritual platform. It is simply self-centered love. What goes in the name of love in this world is mutual – if you give me pleasure, I’ll give you pleasure. If we do not give each other the proper pleasure then divorce results. In America, 70% of marriages end in divorces. And India is catching up, because that spirit of selfless service, that tradition, is being replaced. Tradition, in any culture based on spirituality, is responsibility for selfless service for those whom one is responsible for.

    This is a really beautiful explanation by Radhanath Swami on selfless service. Only if we can do away with selfish motivations, only then it is true love. Thank you, Radhanath Swami, for this wonderful revelation.

    Radhanath Swami is a living example of this selfless service...if not for such examples I can never know more about this term "selfless service" apart from its dictionary meaning...

    It's very rare to find someone being selfless in this age and time. We can be selfless at times but all the time is impossible. But the point Radhanath Swami brought out is very touching as he says, true love is "selfless" and we share this love with everyone around us either in full or in small quantity but with the tinge of selfishness. But if we become selfless wonders will happen in the relationships.
