Radhanath Swami on The Pious but Sinful
The Lord must always be first in our lives. Those who are negligent to this spiritual principle act very selfishly. They simply try to feed their false egos and engage in many sinful activities. From the absolute point of view, even if we do pious activities, if we do them just for our own pleasure, it is sinful. Because everything is ultimately meant only for the Lord’s enjoyment, not ours.

If we want God desperately, we will put Him on the highest priority.
ReplyDeleteThat is a high standard of living!!!
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami shares with us the deep understandings of how to serve God. How else could have we noticed that one could be pious and sinful at the same time.
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami is so true. He is giving us the solution to become Happy in our lives.
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami is being very straightforward in his observations on the pious people's charitable acts. Many philanthrophists engage in social welfare schemes simply for the sake of their own fame & recognition. So to that extent, they are trying to prove themselves to be the Supreme Guardian & therefore they are being sinful in that absolute spiritual context.
ReplyDeleteVery aptly said by Radhanath Swami. What belongs to the Lord is meant for His enjoyment, and we can enjoy it only in connection with Him.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very serious message from Radhanath Swami. Any sincere heart would agree that this is what is required if we really are serious about God.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your guidance swamiji.........
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami guiding us not do any activity for own selfish purpose but do for others that make us happy
ReplyDeleteeven if we do pious activities, if we do them just for our own pleasure, it is sinful... scary but such a truthful statement. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletePut first things first. The rest will fall in place.
ReplyDeleteSuch a simple understanding of being selfless - to perform all acts for the Lord's pleasure.
ReplyDeleteFrom the absolute point of view, even if we do pious activities, if we do them just for our own pleasure, it is sinful. Because everything is ultimately meant only for the Lord’s enjoyment, not ours.
ReplyDeleteThank your for this point of view.
This statement of Radhanath swami cleary shows that in absolute nature even a pious activity become sinful , if it is for the purpose of enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteHigher perspective to what we understand as sin
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami is setting the ideal standard to be practiced by genuinely sincere people on a spiritual path - Working for the pleasure of the Lord alone. Even though this is not easy, it has been done by various elevated Vaishnavas in the past belonging to certain spiritual traditions. One of the present day exponents is Radhanath Swami himself.
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami expertly pours cold water on the popularly held notion that "being pious is the best thing in the world".
ReplyDeleteVery nice point Radhanath Swami has mentioned. If we simply keep God in center for all of our activities we perform in this world, we can get satisfaction by that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a higher level of truth Radhanath swami is stating.
ReplyDeleteIn our life we keep krishna in center then we r always saticefied....
ReplyDeletethank u maharaj..
Krishna is the centre at all times. Maharaj is laying great emphasis on this fact because without this understanding we are lost in our spiritual life.Maharaj himself is practicing what he preach.
ReplyDeleteMost of the population is in this category today - carrying out their plans in the name of religiosity.
