We see the world according to our desires. We are judged by our ideal - what ideal we stand for is indicative of the substance that we are.
A devotee might sometimes struggle to become God Consciousness but he is still to be highly respected because of his ideal to serve and love God honestly and earnestly. On the other hand there could be persons who have even taken to the dress of a so-called sadhu (saintly person), but if their ideal is something material, they will sooner or later fall down in the eyes of people. So it is not just the external behaviour of a person that is to be taken into consideration, it is that person’s character and the ideal that person is striving to achieve in life that must also be seriously considered.

Very encouraging..This struggle to become God Conscious becomes easier in the association of devotees and guidance of the spiritual master.. Eventually what matters is the sincere effort.
ReplyDeleteThank u for sharing.
That's a nice one.....

ReplyDeleteIt is the person’s character and the ideal that a person is striving to achieve in life which must be seriously considered.H.H Radhanath Swami Maharaj is so clear in his instructions. Thank you Maharaj.
ReplyDeleteThank you maharaj for instruction.
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring!!
ReplyDeleteIn material life so much emphasis is on personality development, but spiritual life is all about character development. Thank you Maharajah for guiding us.
ReplyDeleteIn Radhanath Swami's life..in his school days he learned one very important thing...In Highland park (place where his school was) Character counts!!!.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is how we see Radhanath Swami is living a life of high integrity and character and he is also teaching his followers to live life like that.
Thank you very much for sharing the words of Radhanath Swami "We are judged by our ideal - what ideal we stand for is indicative of the substance that we are."
ReplyDeleteHow true is Maharaj in establishing who is a real sadhu.
ReplyDeleteWonderful explanation.Thank you so much Maharaj
ReplyDeleteMost people have a materialistic ideal---bank balance, house....---very few rise above that. God Consciousness is even rarer.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting these wonderful words of wisdom by Srila Gurudeva
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami teaches us to look at the intentions and not just the externals of a behaviour.
ReplyDeleteI ma very inspired by this instruction by Radhanath Swami. A high ideal is what keeps one going strong through all the ups and downs of life.
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami has said this very nicely. Therefore we should never judge people. If we just them from their externals, then we may be wrong and internal motivation is something we cannot see. Therefore best is to respect everyone who is trying to serve God.
ReplyDeleteDuplicity is one of biggest obstacle in the spiritual path, one may pretend to be a sadhu or renunciate but he might cultivate separate desires than to serve Guru, and take undue advantage of the post and positions. Maharaj is carefully guiding that how one should be striving to cultivate inner surrender to Guru and Krsna.
ReplyDeleteYes to achieve what Radhanath Maharaj said is possible when one is intensly desirous to serve Guru And God under bonafied guidance.Under bonafied guidenace only it is possible to have external and internal cleanship.Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteAll Glories To H.H Radhanath Swami Maharaj
ReplyDeleteA very profound explanation of what spiritual life is.
Hare Krishna
Very true. Unfortunately, people today look at the externals of a person only and try to become like him/her, which is the very essence why the societies are losing peace and real happiness. The followers don't want to know the character of a person who is so called materially famous.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very encouraging perspective by Radhaanth Swami
ReplyDeleteHis Holiness Radhanath Swami Maharaj's beautiful explanation of how one need to differentiate between the external behaviour and the inner character.
ReplyDeleteamazing very nice article.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such an instructive article......Hypocrisy should be avoided in all phases of life.....
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring note. We should strive for ideals in whatever situation we are...
ReplyDeleteYes, all that glitters is not gold, so we must be careful not to judge people only by their externals.
