Radhanath Swami on Goal of Life

Although we may have very high education, although we may be situated in great material wealth and influence, still there is suffering in this world. Whatever endeavors we make to free ourselves from sufferings, still we must suffer, because it’s the nature of this material world. And until we understand the process of deliverance from all suffering, it is to be understood that all of our so called education are just decorative forms of ignorance. The goal of life is to free oneself from illusion and we cannot free ourselves from illusion until we humbly present our condition before the great physician, the Supreme Personality of Godhead or his representatives.

  1. For many years I was confused as to what is the goal of my life. Was I to just eat, sleep, be merry and die one day. No...there should be some other purpose why I was here. But I never got any convincing answers till I read this book - Journey Home by Radhanath Swami. Its an amazing journey that takes him to the goal of his life and is helping me understand mine.

  2. Very true, although UNO, UNESCO, Government of India are all claiming that all parameters of education and lifestyle levels are increasing but still somehow stress, hypertension and suicide rates are incresing. This is a definite sign of suffering..

  6. This site is filled with transcedental nectar. It makes me feel close to Radhanath Swami. Everyone talks about making life comfortable in this world but Radhanath Swami bluntly speaks the harsh reality which one must seriously understand and contemplate upon. This world is like a desert which has mirage which makes people think bewilders them by making them think no there is reservior of water but when one goes closer he realizes there is no water but hot burning sand which will not quench ones thirst.

  9. How many of us really even asked this question - what is the goal of life and thought deeply, meditated, worked to get a satisfactory answer?

The whole world is running after various types of pleasures and seeking happiness, only to be ultimately frustrated.

Its only by the compassion of saintly people like Radhanath Swami - we have any hope to learn the goal of life and work accordingly!
