Radhanath Swami on Death As Eternal Life
How we perceive even death itself is a matter of our realization. There is an example where a cat is compared to death. When a mouse is in the mouth of the cat, it sees the cat as death personified. It’s horrible, it’s fearful. But when a little kitten is in the mouth of mother cat, it sees the cat as the most protective loving mother. It’s the same cat. Perception changes according to the particular state of consciousness. So Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita, “I am death personified.” Ultimately through the power of time we all have to meet death, and Krishna says, "I am time personified." So if we are a devotee, we see the love, the grace and the beauty of God in life as well as in death.

Yes This very true. For a self-realized person who sees God everywhere and at every time. So for him, death would be an opportunity to get released from the current body and going back to Krishna or God. So why will such a person be scared of death ?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Analogy by HH Radhanath Swami. Too good... very hope giving.
ReplyDeletethank you very much for fantastic explanation.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! How we relate to Krsna decides our state of mind at the time of death.
ReplyDeleteVery real analogy of mouse and cat, to bring the point of death as we see it as per our perception.
ReplyDeleteIt's very delighting news for us.
ReplyDeleteIt's so fascinating to conceive of a reality that is so real yet so distant. What we see is not really what is, and what is is what we don't see but is what really happening. Death is one of those mysteries that make us believe that we will not live, but actually has no existence when we see from the eye of the soul.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully explained. All glories to HH Radhanath Swami
ReplyDeleteNice
ReplyDeleteVery true and makes perfect sense. Thank you Radhanath Swami.
ReplyDeleteVery nice analogy of mouse and cat. but when its relate to our death then its very difficult to understand without the blessing of Krishna
ReplyDeleteDevotee is fearless about death-A doubt so wonderfully cleared by Radhanath Swami.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful way of explaining the difference perception can make in something as grave as death.
ReplyDeleteA practical aproach is given herein by Radhanath Swamiji. For a person in spiritual life, life is a preapartion and death is a examination.Such a person sees love of God Lord Krishna and therefore he/she is not fearful during that examination.Thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteone who has realized God can see Him ever where - so does Radhanath Swami by seeing and saying "the grace and the beauty of God in life as well as in death"
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful description about death....the analogy og cat kitten clears the point very well.....
ReplyDeleteAn eye opening message from Radhanath Swami. Yes, it's a bitter truth that everyone of us has to face death today or tomorrow, but the way a devotee embraces death is something different and this is something which he trains himself in his whole life.
ReplyDeleteMany Thanks to Radhanath swami for the wonderful explaination.
ReplyDeleteThank you maharaj for explaining that a devotee is beyond the clutches of death.
ReplyDeleteThat is why I guess pure devotees are always happy in service to Krishna, whether in this life or back in Goloka!
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami has very nicely explained how should we see death.
ReplyDeleteVery true to say that Krishna is equal to all but only our state of consciousness is the matter at the time of giving up our bodies.Try to be Krishna conscious right now for ever. All glories to Radhanath Swami.
