Radhanath Swami on Time the Terrorist

By nature, this material world is a place of chaos and misery, because here everything is temporary. By the force of time everything is in the process of destruction. Time is terrorizing everyone’s life. Very soon after we are born the heart starts beating. And every beat of the heart is like every tick of the clock. The power of time is swallowing the duration of our life. Even during the times of peace and freedom in a nation, everyone has to face the ultimate conclusion of life - old age, disease, and death. Krishna describes in the Gita: it’s due to the temporary nature of this world that there can be no real happiness, no real peace.

    As Radhanath Swami has pointed out so emphatically, there is no permanent peace in this material world as each one of us has to undergo the inevitable process of old age, disease & death. So we should not be driven solely by our material desires, rather we should focus more on the higher aspect of our existence - our spiritual nature & our eternal relation with God.

    HH Radhanath Swami provides us a reality check through this article. Time is merciless and does not consider our situations, but keeps going. It is said Time waits for nobody. This is the reality check that HH Radhanath Swami brings home to us.
