Radhanath Swami on Service Mood
There are different types of services - one could lead a household life and earn one's livelihood while developing spiritual values, or one could submit one's life to preaching the values of God consciousness or one could reside in a temple and dutifully perform elaborate worship of the deity. Even though these three services are altogether different, they are actually one and the same. This is because the Lord is an essence seeker - He only sees the spirit of devotion - whether one is a monk living in a temple and preaching, or a householder with an occupation. No service is better than the other; where there is devotion, all are equal.

All are equal in the eyes of God and the Seer. The Lord sees the effort not the fruit. Hare Krishna !!
ReplyDeleteThank you for clearing the doubt that I felt to devote to the Lord fully , means one has to give up all family responsibilities .
ReplyDelete"No service is better than the other; where there is devotion, all are equal".
ReplyDeleteInteresting... Thank you Radhanath Swami.
This shows the importance of devotional service. All glories to Maharaj.
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami has given very nice message here. Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur has also mentioned the same thing in his song "Shuddha Bhakat Charan Renu...".

ReplyDeleteThere are no barriers for devotional service. It can be performed in any situation and by anybody.Very good point made by Radhanath Swami.
ReplyDeleteThank you Radhanath Swami for explaining how Lord is most happy with the intention and devotional mood of the server more than the external factors that may exist.
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami has so clearly said what is it that the Lord sees when we render service to Him. This makes it clear to me as to what should I be focussing on when I render any service and how I should not disregard any service or prefer any specific service.
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami once again brilliant in getting us to the essence of all service - devotion...
ReplyDeletethat is key ingredient if mixed - all is well...if not in the eyes of God has no value, how much ever we may impress people around!
Enlightening....

Radhanath Swami explains this true basis of equality so eloquently. True equality only comes on a spiritual platform where the Lord is the center.

ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of unifying principle that attracted me to Radhanath Swami's teachings.
ReplyDeletevery Nice!!
ReplyDeleteRadhanath Swami has very nicely elaborated on the equanimity of devotional service in the varna-asram system. Indeed God is only pleased by our genuine desire and endeavour to serve & please Him, irrespective of whether we are a preaching monk, a householder or a temple pujari.
ReplyDeleteVery encouraging message from Radhanath Swami. He has clearly mentioned here that it's the consciousness of someone which Krishna looks for and not the actual activity one performs to please Him.
