Radhanath Swami on Sincerity

Sincerity means one doesn't give up. He does not give up in spite of impediments. A sincere person maintains his integrity and good character whatever be the temptations, fears and aversions. He maintains proper character, the regulative principles and his morality. He maintains his humility and service attitude, and his fidelity to the spiritual master and the Lord, despite temptations and alternatives that could be placed before him. He follows the path of devotional service and maintains a proper character despite the frivolous nature of the mind. And just by trying the best he can, the Lord is obliged out of love to help him.

If one takes credit for anything, that is insincerity. One just needs to try one's best to do the right thing, and give all credit to the Lord and depend on the Lord. That is sincerity.

    This is a very vivid & beautiful definition of the term sincerity by Radhanath Swami Maharaj. He has set a very good standard for all his followers to strive to achieve.

    Radhanath Swami has given a good description of the commonly used but less understood word -sincerity. "One doesn't give up" in spite of temptations and obstacles

    Radhanath Swami Maharaj himself is an exemplary role model as far as sincerity is concerned because he never gave in to the temptations & comforts of the material world when he embarked upon his spiritual journey to India in the prime of his youth.
